    From July 6th to July 12th, over 70 events took place across North America as part of the third annual #StopOilTrains Week of Action.

    Community members gathered at events ranging from vigils to rallies to flotillas in order to commemorate those killed in the Lac-Megantic oil train disaster in 2013 and to fight against oil trains in their own communities.

Stand organizes the Stop Oil Trains Week of Action to help raise the voice of communities who oppose these dangerous, unnecessary trains. In 2016, elected officials joined our call for a stop to oil trains.

  • Oil Train Banner Action in Blast Zone -- Mariners Stadium

    [Seattle, WA] Today at 12 noon Stand (formerly ForestEthics) volunteers will be outside of Safeco Field with a 42 x 14-foot oil train tank car banner. Stand volunteers will be talking to fans on their way into the afternoon game about the threat from oil trains and asking them to sign a petition calling for a ban on oil trains and a denial of all pending permits for new oil train terminals.
