Some ideas simply cannot stand- like punching a pipeline full of toxic tar sands oil through unceded First Nation’s territory against their absolute opposition. Oh, and did we mention running it through the Great Bear Rainforest, putting the health of a global treasure - and the entire West coast of Canada - at risk. That’s the story of the Enbridge pipeline. Well, it’s the shortest version of that story. With twists and turns involving precedent-setting court decisions and enough intrigue to make your head spin, the approval for this pipeline failed on multiple fronts, making its death knell absolute. Our appreciation and respect for the First Nations and local communities who pledged to put their bodies on the line to stop this pipeline inspires us everyday to do more and to do it better.
