Sohini Baliga joins the team as Chief Communications Officer  

səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), and Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Territories (VANCOUVER, BC), Traditional Chochenyo and Karkin Ohlone Lands (SAN FRANCISCO, CA), and Traditional Lummi and Nooksack Lands (BELLINGHAM, WA) —  International environmental organization is pleased to announce that Sohini Baliga has joined its growing team as Chief Communications Officer.

In close partnership with the Executive Team, Development Director, and senior campaign staff, Baliga will steer institutional communications to scale up Stand’s public profile. She comes to Stand with an extensive background in communications and advancement, and deep roots in the nonprofit and advocacy world. 

Prior to joining Stand, Baliga has worked the gamut — from start-ups around dining tables to established organizations across different time zones, served on multiple boards, and has often been the first person to hold her job in an organization. Some of Sohini’s previous professional engagements include Taxpayers for Common Sense, KCRW-FM, New Endeavors by Women, Advanse International, and more. Born in India and raised partly in the Middle East, Sohini is currently based in Northern Virginia.
