Laura Svolos

Associate Director, Institutional Giving

Laura joined in August 2015. She brings 10 years of nonprofit experience in which she specialized in securing six-figure grants from foundations and corporations; for five of those years, she owned a consulting business that raised $15 million on behalf of school reform, juvenile justice reform and early childhood development. Laura lives in Palm Desert, though she is originally from the Chicago area where she attended Northwestern University. At Northwestern, she earned a BS in Communication Studies and an MS in Journalism.

When she’s not grant writing, Laura has a side business as an interior designer specializing in kitchen and bath remodels. She draws her inspiration from the beautiful palette of the desert.  As an outdoors enthusiast, Laura loves being in nature and calls it her “tuning fork.” On her days off, you’ll find her hiking, biking, or floating in the pool. She’s also a seminary-trained teacher of Kriya yoga and enjoys teaching meditation classes throughout the Coachella Valley.
