Nola Poirier has been working in the environmental movement in Canada and beyond for two decades. She has a BSc. in Environmental Studies and an MES in Environmental Studies with a concentration on radical change and participatory means of decision making. Nola also has an MFA in creative writing and publishes short stories. Previously, she has worked as a campaigner, researcher and/or writer on issues related to mining, forestry, fresh water, agriculture, immigrant rights, education, energy, and climate change. Nola embodies the Stand.earth principle of doing the impossible, as she has leveraged her mite of musical talent into playing in two bands and a punk-rock choir.
